Day 1
semi Gobi
Drive to the ancient capital of Mongol Empire, Kharkhorin city, which is around 6 hours of drive. Visit semi-Gobi on the way to the Kharkhorin city. You will be welcomed by the local nomadic family upon your arrival. Then you will get introduced to the local nomadic culture. Participate in the daily livestock work of the nomadic family (which will be an interesting introduction to a nomadic Mongolian lifestyle). Milking, watering and herding the livestock of the nomadic family (Mongolian livestock traditionally includes: goat, sheep, camel, horse and cow). The nomadic family has hundreds of camels, horses, goats and sheep. Ride a camel in the semi-Gobi desert over the astonishing view of the sand dunes of Gobi. Have a traditional Mongolian lunch with the local family. Then drive to Karakorum city. After arrival in the city, check in at a ger camp. Have a traditional Mongolian dinner at the camp. Overnight at a local family ger camp.
Day 2
Karakorum & Ugii Lake
After having a breakfast, visit the National History Museum of 13th Century Mongolia. Then visit the Erdenezuu monastery, which was founded in 1585 by Abtaisain Khan of Mongolia. It is time to make some short hiking to the mountain for the panoramic view of the city. Visit the memorial dedicated for the great khans of Mongolia, which has a panoramic view of the Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After visiting the musuem, start the driving to Ugii nuur/lake. On the way to the Lake Ugii, we will visit another history musuem on the Orkhon Valley. Lunch on the way to the Ugii nuur/lake. Ride a horse along the lake (in winter times it is not possible to ride a horse instead fishing is possible). Possibility of swimming and cruising with a boat. Dinner at a ger camp. Overnight at a nomadic family ger camp.
Day 3
Khustai National Park
After having a breakfast, make a short city tour in Karakorum. Lunch on the way. Visit Hustai Nuruu National Park, which is a specially protected area that preserves the lives of only remaining wild horses in the world known as Prezewalski horse. Have a snack at the park. After having a snack and coffee break, drive to Ulaanbaatar city. Check in hotel. Tour ends.
